MSC World America: MSC's second World Class ship, on week-long Caribbean trips from Miami
MSC World America is the second of MSC Cruises' World Class ships and took her first guests on April 12, 2025. She sails from MSC's own terminal at PortMiami on alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, and every sailing calls at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the line's private island in the Bahamas. She is organized into seven districts, with 19 places to eat, 18 bars and lounges, and an MSC Yacht Club suite area.
Who this ship suits
World America suits families and groups who want a very large, busy ship with a lot to do. Children have The Harbour, an outdoor family area. Adults have 18 bars and lounges, including a sports bar and a comedy club. Travelers who want a quieter, more private experience can book the MSC Yacht Club, a separate suite area with its own bar, restaurant and pool.
She is not the ship for travelers who want a small vessel or a varied itinerary. Every sailing includes Ocean Cay, and with up to 6,762 guests on board, popular venues and pool decks fill up on sea days.
The ship itself
World America was built at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, and delivered in March 2025. She is MSC's third ship powered by liquefied natural gas. MSC lists her at 216,638 gross tons, 22 decks, 2,614 cabins and 2,138 crew. With 6,762 guests on board, she has about 32 gross tons per guest, so the ship can feel busy when full. There are about 3.2 guests per crew member.
She is laid out as seven districts. Highlights include:
- The Harbour: an outdoor family area with the Cliffhanger swing ride over the water, a ropes course, a water park, a playground and free grab-and-go food.
- World Promenade: an outdoor promenade with shops, restaurants and a long dry slide.
- World Galleria: a three-level indoor street of bars, shops and restaurants.
- MSC Yacht Club: suites with butler service and private bar, restaurant and pool, described by MSC as the largest Yacht Club sailing in the Caribbean.
Dining
There are 19 dining venues, including an Eataly restaurant, which MSC says is the only one at sea. Check which venues are included in your fare and which cost extra before you sail.
