Terms

The agreement between us.

Last updated: April 30, 2026 · Effective: April 30, 2026

The short version

Vidalumi is a cruise-discovery and price-tracking service. We help you find sailings that fit and watch prices for the ones you save. We don’t sell cruises ourselves — bookings happen on the cruise line’s site or through your travel advisor.

By using Vidalumi, you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the service.

Who we are

Vidalumi is operated by And It Just Happens, Inc., a Delaware corporation (“Vidalumi,” “we,” “us”). You are “you” or “user.”

What Vidalumi is

We aggregate publicly available cruise information from cruise lines (currently Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian, and Disney; more over time). We display sailings, prices, and itineraries so you can compare and decide. We let you save cruises you’re considering, set price alerts, and plan with travel companions.

What Vidalumi isn't

  • We’re not a travel agency. We don’t sell cruises, hold reservations, or process payments. When you click “book,” you’re sent to the cruise line’s own booking site — their terms apply from that point forward.
  • We’re not the cruise line. We don’t operate ships, employ crew, set policies, or control your onboard experience. Disputes about your cruise — cancellations, itinerary changes, refunds, onboard incidents — are between you and the cruise line.
  • We’re not a price guarantee. Cruise prices change minute to minute. The price we display is what we last captured during our daily refresh. The price you actually pay is whatever the cruise line is showing when you book.

Pricing accuracy

We do our best to keep prices fresh, but every price you see on Vidalumi is a snapshot — not a quote, not a promise, not an offer. We refresh our catalog at least once daily and re-check prices on saved sailings more often, but cruise lines can and do change prices between our snapshots.

The price you actually pay is set by the cruise line at the moment you book, in the cruise line’s checkout. Vidalumi never charges you and never collects your card. If the price on our site differs from the cruise line’s site, the cruise line’s price is what applies — we have no authority to honor an outdated number.

When we display a “deal score” or “great deal” badge, that’s our calculation against 90 days of historical prices for similar cabins. It’s a signal, not a guarantee. Past pricing isn’t a predictor of future pricing.

Cancellations, refunds, and changes

Once you book a cruise on the cruise line’s site, the cruise line’s cancellation, refund, and change policies govern. Vidalumi has no role in those processes and no ability to refund, rebook, reschedule, or modify any reservation.

If a cruise line cancels your sailing or changes the itinerary, that’s between you and the cruise line. We may show cancellation status on Vidalumi when we detect it, but we can’t initiate or process the cancellation for you.

Your account

You need an account to save cruises, set price alerts, or use travel-group features. To create one:

  • You must be at least 13 years old.
  • You must provide accurate information (a real name and a working email).
  • You may not create accounts using automated means or for someone else without their permission.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, change your password and email security@vidalumi.com.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, mirror, or republish Vidalumi’s catalog data at scale without written permission. Casual sharing of individual sailings on social media or with travel companions is fine and encouraged.
  • Probe, scan, or attempt to compromise our infrastructure; bypass rate limits; or use Vidalumi as a vector to attack cruise-line booking sites.
  • Use Vidalumi to harass, defame, or impersonate anyone.
  • Submit deliberately false price alerts or saved trips for the purpose of skewing our analytics.
  • Reverse engineer the service to clone it commercially. (You can absolutely peek under the hood for personal use.)

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on severity.

Affiliate disclosure

Vidalumi may earn a referral fee when you click through to a cruise line and complete a booking. We disclose this here, in our footer, and (where required by FTC rules) on individual sailing pages. Referral fees do not influence which sailings we show you, what order they appear in, or how we calculate deal scores. Our pricing data and recommendations are the same regardless of whether a referral relationship exists.

Intellectual property

Our content: the design, code, brand, and original copy on Vidalumi are owned by And It Just Happens, Inc. You may use the site as intended (browse, save, share individual links), but you may not copy substantial portions for republication without written permission.

Cruise line content: ship names, itineraries, prices, and cabin descriptions belong to the respective cruise lines. We display factual catalog information under fair-use / publicly-available-data principles. We never copy copyrighted marketing prose, photography, or stylised descriptions; we generate or write our own.

Your content: the trip names, group names, alert preferences, and notes you create stay yours. By using the service you grant us a limited license to store, display, and process that content as needed to run Vidalumi for you.

Disclaimers

The following is required disclosure language. Read it.

VIDALUMI IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We don’t warrant that catalog data is complete or error-free, that price snapshots reflect current cruise-line pricing, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any specific sailing will remain available at any specific price.

Some jurisdictions don’t allow exclusion of implied warranties; in those places the exclusions above apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VIDALUMI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST GOODWILL — ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

In no event will our aggregate liability exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Vidalumi in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (typically zero, since the service is free), or (b) USD $100.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory — contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise — and regardless of whether we’ve been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Vidalumi harmless from any claim, demand, or damages (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Termination

You can close your account anytime from your settings page. Upon termination, your data is deleted per our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if continued service exposes us to legal risk, or if we shut down the service entirely. We’ll give reasonable advance notice when feasible. We’re not liable for any loss resulting from termination — including loss of saved trips, alert history, or planning notes — so export anything you want to keep before closing your account.

Changes to these terms

We’ll update these terms when our practices or the law changes. Material changes get a notice on the site and an email to account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use Vidalumi after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that we can’t resolve through good-faith conversation will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction and venue.

Informal first: before filing anything, please email legal@vidalumi.com with a description of the dispute. We’ll respond within 30 days and try to resolve it.

Miscellaneous

Severability: if any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.

No waiver: our failure to enforce any provision isn’t a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Entire agreement: these terms plus the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Vidalumi about the service. They supersede any prior or contemporaneous communications, except as updated through the change-notice process above.

Assignment: you may not assign these terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
