The Millennium-class ships (Millennium, Infinity, Summit, Constellation) entered service between 2000 and 2002 and established Celebrity's visual identity before the Solstice-class evolved it. The defining feature was proportion: at 1,950 guests, these ships were large enough to support a full specialty dining program and a genuine entertainment program, but small enough to avoid the impersonality that later mega-ships struggled with. Constellation was the refinement of the class — the fourth ship absorbed what the first three had learned.

The Signature Restaurant remains the talking point. A single large dining room with panoramic glass walls serves a prix-fixe menu on select evenings; the panoramic framing changes depending on which ocean you're crossing. The concept is less about the food (which is good but not transcendent) and more about the theatrical quality of a formal dinner where the backdrop is the sea.

Celebrity has kept Constellation relevant through the Celebrity Revolution program — a refurbishment initiative that modernized interiors, replaced specialty restaurant concepts, and upgraded cabin finishes across the Millennium-class fleet. Constlelation received her refit in 2019, which means the ship's aesthetic now aligns with current Celebrity standards while retaining the older ship's scale advantages.

The guest who fits Celebrity Constellation: experienced travelers who have already done the Caribbean and Mediterranean loops on larger ships and are ready for the itineraries Constellation actually sails. The Indian Ocean program (Seychelles, Maldives, Mauritius), Middle East (Israel, Jordan, Egypt), and Asia-Pacific routes attract a traveler demographic that prioritizes destination access over onboard amenity count. Constellation does those itineraries well, and the ~1,950-guest capacity means the destination arrives without the crowd management overhead of the larger fleet.
