Celebrity Compass entered service in 2025 as the fifth ship in Celebrity's Edge class, bringing the Infinite Veranda concept and the full Edge-class design language to its newest form. At approximately 3,260 guests, Compass continues Celebrity's premium-contemporary positioning: modern design, a wide-ranging dining program, The Retreat suite tier, and Eden — the three-story glass atrium that has become the class's signature social space.
Celebrity Compass launched in 2025 as the fifth Edge-class ship, coming after Celebrity Edge, Apex, Beyond, and Ascent. By this point, the Edge class is a proven design rather than an experiment: Celebrity has had seven years of guest feedback on the Infinite Veranda concept, the Eden programming model, and the Retreat suite tier, and Compass benefits from that accumulated refinement. If you've sailed an earlier Edge-class ship, the experience on Compass will feel familiar in its architecture and meaningfully improved in its details.
The Infinite Veranda — the full moveable glass wall that opens a standard cabin to sea air — is the design element that most distinguishes Edge-class ships from the industry's standard balcony-cabin template. On Compass, as on Ascent before it, the mechanism has been refined to be more intuitive than the first-generation version on Edge itself. For guests arriving from conventional cruise ships, the first morning with the wall open and the sound of the ocean present in the cabin is a distinct experience; for guests who've done it before, it's simply how their cabin works.
The Retreat occupies the forward upper decks with a private pool, sun deck, and Luminae restaurant — the ship-within-a-ship suite model that Celebrity has developed into a credible alternative to boutique luxury lines for guests who want both scale (full ship amenities, diverse dining, multiple entertainment options) and seclusion (a private deck where the headcount is in the dozens, not the thousands). Eden at the stern runs programming every evening: the acrobatic, immersive performance format that Celebrity created for this space has no direct parallel in the industry.
The dining program is comprehensive: specialty options include the steakhouse, the Le Petit Chef digital dining experience (a tabletop projection show paired with a multi-course menu), Eden's own restaurant and bar, and the included Ocean View Café. AquaClass cabins add Blu, the wellness-focused dining room, and Persian Garden spa access.
The honest note: Compass is the newest Edge-class ship, which makes it the most polished iteration for guests who want that class. It is not a reinvention — the formula is settled and works. Guests who sail Celebrity frequently will find the experience familiar; guests new to Celebrity will find it impressively coherent.
