Celebrity Beyond

Celebrity Beyond is the Edge-class ship with the most refined dining program — Le Voyage added a Michelin-pedigreed chef to the fleet

Celebrity Beyond (2022) is the third Edge-class ship, slightly larger than Celebrity Edge and Apex at approximately 3,260 guests. The operational refinements of Edge and Apex are present, and Beyond adds one distinction that neither predecessor has: Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud, a specialty restaurant designed by the French chef in his first collaboration with a cruise line. Beyond operates primarily in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.

Celebrity Beyond is the Edge-class as a mature product. Edge launched the concept in 2018; Apex refined the execution in 2020; Beyond arrived in 2022 with the accumulated understanding of what the design actually needed. Infinite Verandas work with less operational friction. Eden's programming is more confident. The Retreat — the exclusive suite tier with its private deck, pool, lounge, and Luminae restaurant — runs with the crew depth that a well-established suite experience requires.

Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud is the differentiating addition. Boulud, the French chef behind Daniel and Café Boulud in New York, designed the restaurant's menu around a tasting-menu format emphasizing seasonal ingredients and French classical technique. It's Celebrity's first partnership with a chef at that level of recognition, and the restaurant's onboard performance has tracked positively in guest reviews — a notable outcome for a dining concept designed by someone not physically present on the ship. The specialty surcharge applies.

The Rooftop Garden on Beyond is larger than on Edge and Apex, a design choice that reflects passenger response to the al fresco social space across the first two Edge-class ships. Live music and casual dining in the Rooftop Garden have become the low-key alternative to Eden's more theatrical evenings, and the expanded footprint on Beyond allows the space to hold more guests without the crowding that a popular outdoor venue on a ship can produce.

Eden on Beyond performs the same function as on its predecessors — three-story glass atrium, combined restaurant and entertainment venue, performers integrated into the architecture rather than staged in front of it — with four years of production experience behind it. The show concept has evolved through the class; guests who saw Eden on Edge will find the Beyond version a development, not a repetition.

The guest who fits Celebrity Beyond: travelers who want the full Edge-class experience with a dining program that goes beyond what Edge and Apex offer. Guests for whom specialty restaurant quality is a booking criterion rather than an afterthought. Mediterranean-focused itinerary travelers who want Celebrity's service level and find Beyond's slightly larger capacity — relative to Edge and Apex — a reasonable trade for the dining addition.
