Carnival Conquest

The Conquest class ships were the first Carnival vessels to feel genuinely large to mainstream American cruisers. Previous Carnival ships topped out around 2,000 guests; the Conquest class crossed 2,900. That jump in scale meant more bars, more dining variety, a larger casino, a bigger theater, a more active pool deck — everything the Carnival brand promised, at higher volume. Carnival Conquest sails from Galveston, Texas and Miami, reaching Western Caribbean ports on the standard seven-day pattern: Cozumel, Roatan, Belize, Grand Cayman or Costa Maya. The Galveston homeport serves Texas and the Southern Plains — a driving-distance embarkation for millions of travelers who would otherwise need to fly to a Florida port. The amenity set reflects successive updates rather than a complete overhaul: Guy's Burger Joint, BlueIguana Cantina, and the Red Frog Pub were added in a refit, joining the original main dining rooms, specialty restaurant, pool deck waterslides, and casino. The Serenity Adults-Only Retreat is available at the stern. The entertainment program runs the Carnival standard: Punchliner Comedy Club, piano bar, deck parties, and live music venues.

The ship is 22 years old, and that age shows in the cabin dimensions and bathroom layouts. The pool deck can feel congested at peak hours. Guests who have sailed newer Carnival ships will notice the smaller scale of the pool area and the tighter cabin corridors.
